Is anyone else going this weekend? My girlfriend's dad got us both tickets, it will be my first time to something like this.

Hope you enjoy it. I'll be there with a couple of members from here.

Don't forget to bring ear plugs and watch out for the Laguna Seca weather (cold in the morning, warm in the afternoon, and cold in the late afternoon).

First race I ever went to was ALMS at Laguna Seca. My favorite place to see a race. We usually setup on the hill so you can walk up to the corkscrew but still see the majority of the rest of the track.

If you didn't already, get pit passes since it is your first time.

Interesting, looks like the main race day is Sat. when it used to always be Sunday.

What is this track construction they are doing? I haven't been out there in a few years. Just a resurfacing?

Ear plugs really are not nessesary unless you are sitting at the start finish line

just and FYI they let everyone on to the starting grid for about 20 minutes before the race starts to take pictures and talk with the drivers so not need for a pit pass.
As far as viewing, i usually start and the start finish, watch the first few laps, go through the food area and grab a beer, go to turn 4, proceed to drink the beer then after that walk up the hill/get a cart ride to the top where you can watch the screw and the rest of the track. just my .02cents

oh yeah, THIS! even if it feels cold you get a TON of sun. Two years ago i thought i was good because there was a cool breeze all day. I got so sun burnt my chin got a small blister on it and i didn't realize until i got back into the car.

This race has been on Saturday ever since they started "Racing into darkness."

If you're new to ALMS series, there are lights on the side of the car. One light means the car is running first in it's class. Two lights means second and third means third. Different colours for each class. The GT class is where the action will be.

I could have sworn last year it was literally on mothers day. But looking now im obviously wrong it was on a saturday.

GT is def where the action is, although this year the LMPC class is pretty legit as well.
