But all is not lost—or at least this particular Syclone. Much to my relief, I can report that the Syclone has been saved thanks to the work of a few SyTy.net forum members. Board members were able to track the truck down and someone purchased it from the dealer before the government death certificate was filed. Dealers apparently have the option of selling clunker trade-ins (assuming they receive an offer that bests the $3500 or $4500 put up by the government) before they file the rebate papers.
The government can sue the dealership/company for not smashing the car to be sent over to china for metal. So I'm pretty sure that thing was destroyed. No company would risk a lawsuit for one car.

The Syclone, when new, was capable of accelerating from 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds and could do a quarter-mile run in 13.4 seconds at 98 mph (158 km/h).

What the hell are people thinking?
He could have sold that for more than he got for it from cash for clunkers. Those things are DOPE.
Jeff and I were just talking about this the other day... one of the few cars made in the 80's worth a damn.

it isn't necessarily the end of the line for the whole truck. A lot of these cars end up in pick and pull lots to be stripped before they get recycled. So maybe someone will find it and gut it to save one that's on the shelf somewhere.
I think people forget about history... hell in this country we tear old buildings with great artistry in their construction down to build giant pieces of crap instead of updating what's already there. That's why the U.S. will never step up to the levels of pretty much all of europe with it's beauty... and huge chucks of asia as well.
