i just recently purchased a new sti 09' with 600 miles. the alignment seemed off, pushing me to the right. i went to the dealership and they corrected it. it isn't pushing as much anymore to the right, but still is slightly going to the right. the service advisor told me that it was common with these cars. i was wondering if anyone experienced the same issue with their car. thanks.

 

Its common if the service department is lazy.

Keep rattling cages till its fixed.

go there and see if they can't fix the issue for you

 

yea thats where i took it to and its still pushing me to the right is that normal? they also checked my tire pressure and it seemed to be fine.

 

The Road naturally crowns to the right so water can flow into the gutters easily. Also it might be a tire pull and not an alignment pull.

I would forget the dealer and get a custom alignment. Zero toe, even negative camber up front and the car would handle better and get better tire wear. Auto Innovations is close to you and only $60 or so... money well spent!

As someone mentioned the road isn't flat. It's crowned. Slopes to the right. So... the car will have a natural tendency to drift one way if they didn't compensate. It's under warranty. Let someone else look at it.

 

I think WRX's and probably STI's pull to the right a bit after a while, mine does that (i need to take it to an alignment shop obviously) and so does my friend's subaru I drove a while back after it had a good 20k on it. It's true that the roads crown, but I think it was still pulling too much in compensation for the ground being curved. I always thought it had to do with how the engine is placed in the bay, and has weight on one side of the car more than the other.

Anywho, alignments alignments allliiiiignments =P. Should fix it, if you're investing this as a long term car, you might want to look at Firestone's life time warranty alignment (150-175) align your car 3 times a year and it pays for itself pretty fast. Even if it isn't right, just keep going back til they get it right, or to a different firestone. Since it's early on, it might be a great investment as you'd have the car for some years to come.

Drive in a parking lot and see if it pulls to the right. In my experience even though everyone says that cars are alligned to account for curvature in the road that isnt necessarily true. On flat surfaces you would pull left, which doesnt happen.
