There's only one person that actually talked to him (whilst in the water) and suicide was never mentioned.

Seriously why are people mad? Suicide attempt + untrained crew = more deaths than just one...someone with improper training trying to save someone from drowning will drown themselves and require further help/assistance
Be mad at the upper levels who use our tax dollars to hire people but don't properly train them, not the people who were instructed not to do anything

Don't be so quick to believe everything you hear in the news, besides it's the Coast Guard's job!

The ENTIRE Alameda Fire and Police depts should be *****ed-slapped for allowing a HUMAN to die to further their BS political agenda.
Fire departments say Alameda authorities never asked for help to save Raymond Zack

If you're not properly trained, you can get sued in the long run. I probably posted that somewhere, its either osha or something related.
Is everyone aware that he was crazy, 6'4 and 285 pounds neck deep in water? No one on this forum would have gone in there to try and do anything. Plus I don't think policy is to rush in and save a crazy suicidal person in any sinerio. Unfortunately for him he was sucessful in his suicide attempt. It's no ones fault hypothermia set in. He got what he wanted.
For one y father and law is a alameda cop an there is more to the story then anyone knows. Believe the news media all you want. And yes, homie was crazy
