Rich,

Add about 50 more songs and squish them to mp3 and then burn it. 14 tracks are not enough for my mp3 player That way, I don't have to take my hands off the wheel to reload. I love mp3 format:banana:

Paul, you just need to get copies of some of the other mix disks he's put together, there should be plenty there to fill your MP3 player

Well, on sunday Christina (my wife) and I went out scouting early. We were on some great back roads. A few of the ones i thought may be dead ends were in fact dead ends. But that's just fine. We had a great time on the road and i thought the CD went well with it's pace.

Tomorrow i'm looking to tackle a very long drive. stating over in Napa and heading north/west on a little road called Partrick that becomes Redwood rd until turning (left) onto Mount Veeder Rd.

Hell here's all my notes for tomorrow.

1) take HWY 29 north into Napa.
2) exit on 1st turn (left) at lights
3) continue (west) until 1st becomes Brown Valley rd.
4) turn (left) onto Partrick -which is the next turn after Buhman
5) turn (right) onto Redwood rd
6) turn (left) onto Mount Veeder rd
7) at the fork in the road keep (left)
8) turn (left) onto Dry Creek Rd
9) becomes Trinity Rd (continue)
10) turn (left) onto HWY 12 (south)
11) get off at next exit (right) onto Arnold dr
12) about 1.3 miles turn (right) onto warn springs rd
13) turn (left) onto Sonoma Mountain rd
14) turn (right) onto Bennett Valley rd
15) turn (left) onto Warm Springs rd
16) turn (left) onto Lawndale rd
17) follow Lawndale for about 6 miles
18) turn (left) onto HWY 12 / Sonoma HWY
19) continue (west) on HWY 12. turn (right) onto Calistoga rd.
20) road becomes Petified Forest rd about 6 miles
21) turn (left) onto Franz Valley School rd
22) at the folk turn (left) onto Franz Valley rd
23) at the end of the road turn (right) onto Porter Creek rd
24) road becomes Mark West Springs rd. continue west
25) once it passes under HWY 101 it becomes River rd. (continue)
26) turn (right) onto Wohler rd (about 2.5 miles)
27) turn (right) onto Westside rd
28) turn (left) onto Sweetwater Springs dr
29) stay on road until it becomes Armstrong and drops you off in gueneville
30) turn (left) at light onto River rd.
31) turn (right) onto Pocket Canyon / route 116 east
32) turn (right) onto Green Valley rd (2.1 miles)
33) turn (left) onto Ross rd.
34) turn (left) onto Ross Station rd.
35) drive to end where Iron Horse Winery is.

that's it so far. after i drive it tomorrow (tues) a few things may change. And several winery's need to be picked out. And if the road really goes great i'll still drive it on Friday too.

oh and Paul. I love making CD compilations for others. Just be sure to come along on more North Bay drives. It's the only way you'll get em.

man i keep hearing on the news about all the flooding all across the bay area. Including Napa etc. There's a good chance i'll be stuck out there in the middle of nowhere.

Well if i don't post before 7pm tomorrow night send someone out looking for me. I could be trapped under a falling tree.

i'm cross my fingers that it goes smoothly

i'm back and alive. The day (tues) ended up being a great day. Likely for me and the road test it had stopped raining. Even today there were small rivers that crossed the road in several areas and remains of others that had dried up.
well the drive it self started out with a bit of a let down. As i was traveling along Partrick there were signs saying "no outlet" ect but i didn't believe it. I figured maybe they (the rich people on the hill) just wanted to keep it for themselves. Afterall i have a great map telling me that it goes on to connect with Redwood. Several miles up the road as i passed sign after sign that said private property. F them i thought and continued. Then around a corner and there. A chain link fence going aross the road with a hugh boulder in front of it. So to my dissapointment the road is there, it's just closed.
Instead i just went north alittle further and found the start of Redwood itself. The sign said twisties for 12 miles on a narrow road. Oh Joy!!! But then again only 1-2 miles into it i reach my turn off onto Mt Veeder rd. I only could imagine how nice the original route would have been.

rating the roads.

* poor ** alright *** i can dig it ****hot damn *****holly shight

rating the traffic on the roads.

*this sucks ** why don't they get over *** at least it's moving well ****few cars and they move over ***** no one but me

Mount Veeder (R) *** (T) ****
Trinity (R) **** (T) **/**** could be both. today i just passed on the double yellow
Warm Springs rd (R) *** (T)***
Sonoma Mountain rd (R)***** (T) **** best road of the day
Lawndale rd. (R) *** (T) **** would have gottin higher score but some places too many houses.
Franz Valley rd. (R)**** (T) **** second best of the day.

I even saw a coyote along the route today on Sonoma Mountain rd. We stopped and looked at one another. It was very cool. When i first saw it i was trotting down the middle of the road.

I didn't do the second part on the west side of HWY 101 because it was getting late and i did that over the weekend.

Hope some of you can come on Friday. I want to run the first part again.

the first part only takes about 3 hours. So when we get back to the 101 we'll just head south. Hopefully traffic wont be too bad heading into Santa Rosa.

see ya Friday Pete.
