93 Impreza LS Wont Start!

Okay guys, this is killing me:
Did a Auto to Manual Swap. Ran great for a while.
Yesterday my friend tried to back it out of the DMV and the car stalled and won't start back up.
Tried the following:
1 - Replace igniter chip
2 - Replace distributor
3 - Checked fuel line after fuel filter
4 - Took out spark plug and turned over engine to check if the plug would spark (it did not)
The car turns over but there's no spark.
Just wondering if anyone here knew what to do? I need to get the car running before Friday or it will be towed by the POLICE!

NO spark huh? DId you ground the plug to make sure it was firing? Check your crank position sensor is secured properly. Verify your igniter is plugged in. Have you verified fuel? The pump should come on and then shut off once pressurized.

That's a good question, I don't remember if I grounded the spark plug. I took the fuel pump out but it didn't sound like it was turning on.
Do you think it's the fuel pump? Anyone in the area have a spare fuel pump? I really need to get this thing running!

You need to touch the plug to ground. FWIW you're lucky you didn't kill yourself. The spark could have gone through you to ground. Turn the key to ACC you should hear the pump turn on and the the shut off.

Hahaha. I didn't actually touch the plug. I was holding the wire, thanks for the heads up though.
I know what the fuel pump sounds like and definitely didn't hear it. Just noticed what you drive, hahaha! I hope mine won't be a broken for long!

Old plug wires can crack and offer very little resistance. It takes a very small fatigue in the plug boot for electrons to escape the insulation. If it don't kill you it hurts like a SOB.
That's not going to get your car running. Figure out the fuel pump issue and we'll go from there.

I have a couple of pumps. I'd verify you have voltage at the pump. Before you replace it. This car looks like it's been to hell and back. No offense of course, it could be something as simple as a filter, relay, fuse.

Hahaha, that it definitely has! I checked the fuses and they all looked good. Not sure how to check the relays.
I checked the lined after the fuel filter and there was gas in it? Where in Norcal are you located? Hopefully in the bay?

I'm in san jose. Check for voltage at the pump connector on top of the fuel tank. If your not comfortable with that disconnect the fuel line route it to a bucket and turn the key. The pump should continue to run until you turn the key off. In normal condition it will shut down once adequate pressure is seen at the rail.
