Whenever I discuss politics, I always voice my opinion that 90% of the population is retarded and most often people agree with me (I dont associate with stupid folks).

i'm actually more surpirsed by the international reaction than anything else... how the rest of the world views us is just as important as how we view our own government. we've alienated ourselves from the rest of the world with our selfish foreign policies, and now everyone is ready for open dialogue again, which is a step in the right direction for real world problems that affect everyone. i think thats an achievement in itself regardless of if you are left/right, donkey/elephant. besides, one day Earth will have to defend itself from aliens, so we're going to have to play nice with the rest of the kids at some point in order to save the human race from **** probes.

How is that discussing politics if you talk to people who agree with your opinion? By only associating with people who agree with you and aren't "retarded", your view is one sided and has no bearing in any discussion. A good discussion would open up to the other side's point and view and take into account what they say. Just by saying you don't associate with stupid folks means you only talk to non "stupid" people...who is anyone that has a different point of view from yourself. This is one reason why I cannot stand conservative religious zealots, they are so close minded.
