880 traffic blows today!

Anyone stuck in this morning's traffic jam...

Weather Related Incident I-880 S Southbound at Marina Blvd (San Leandro) Right lane closed Expect delays.
Tuesday 10:10 AM

weather related incident...more like catastrophic accident...drove by marina blvd in fast lane and there were chunks of the center divide in the Northbound fast lane, then i look over and i see a crushed big rig facing Southbound traffic on the OTHERSIDE, near the exit....was like WTF!!! how did it get there!

found out that the big rig was travelling northbound, lost control, slammed into centerdivide and flipped over onto southbound traffic...

crazy ish..hope no one was hurt, cuz that is one scary **** sight...travelling southbound and here comes a flying big rig heading right for you....

be careful out there guys....

yeah, what is it about the rain that causes people to lapse in their judgement or be less careful? there was not one, but TWO accidents on brokaw this morning...they were within 100 yards of each other, in the same lane!!!

its because people dont understand that you CANT drive the same way in the wet weather that you do in the dry weather. Its called COMMON SENSE PEOPLE!

Wet roads = slippery
Dry roads = not so slippery

Man, a similar accident happened by the Marina exit on a weekday around the same time over the summer. Big rig was on it's side taking up 2-3 lanes. Luckily for me, I lived 1 exit away from that, so when I saw the traffic while driving on the overpass, I just turned around and took the streets back home.

Yeah, I was on 880 going south @ around 6am (on my way home from work)and it was already a parking lot. It started just passed the Coliseum all the way to Marina where there was an over-turned semi on the right hand side. I was stuck in traffic for about 40 mins. It sucked...
How long did it last?

car hydroplaned and hit that truck on 880.... it took a while to get it off because it was full of filled gallon milk jugs! (plus it rolled, blocking all 4 lanes and the cab hooked onto the k-rail... good thing I don't drive on 880 and that I have 10min to watch the news before I leave in the morning! )

another example why not to go 70-80mph when the rain drops are 1/2" accross!

880 is the slowest freeway ever! The first time i got on 680 i was like daaaaaaaaaaaamn, then i notice that all other freeways are just about the same. 880 only pro is that there always working on it, so its a pretty smooth freeway =)

880 is pretty bad, a lot of people around here in the bay. 680 is a lot better, and I'm not sure about 580, but grandmas on 580 hit over 80 from personal experience. The only way I was actually passing people was hittin' 90+

880 sucks (my everyday commute T-T )... but, try 405 or 110 down in So Cal... 880 is nothing
