76 Gas Station Mission @ Warm Springs (91 knock alert)
I filled up lastnight full tank 13 gallons of their 91. About 15 min later I started to pull 2-4* timing.
By the time I crossed 680/580 my IAM dropped to .7 then back up to .9750
This morning I had the same problem. Stoped and topped back up with some 105 sunoco and IAM is back up to 1. Not pulling anymore timing.
My car was on Shell before hand not pulling any timing before fill up.
So if your running a tuned car. Something is up with their 91... I'd stay away!

Where is this gas station with 105 that you speak of?

76 is the tuner's pump gas of choice.

Stay away from VP... As its caustic (spelling) It will damage everything it comes into contact with longer then 24 hrs. I've seen fuel pumps, fuel lines and what not turn to a ball of melted rubber.
At the race track in motorcycles we dump the tank right after using it and flush the system with 91. But avoid using it as much as we can.

Thats why I posted the station and not the whole company. I just wanted to give a heads up. Because so many including myself use it.

I had issues with 76 gas before. Same deal.
Strange thing is... I usually buy gas at this cheapo place down the road from my work. My car likes it better than anything else right now. Go figure. I used to be a gas snob.

I use chevron or 76, no problems usually. VP109 seemed like awesome gas to me, I don't see how it'd be bad for the car. And my tuner seemed to really think highly of it.

Wonder why so many guys who need gas higher than 91 run it everyday.

Less stabilizers make the fuel attack rubber causing gumming.. = plugged fuel injector or fuel pump.
Plus being highly oxygenated it tends to dry out the valves and speed wear on the seats and guides.
Do a google search on [VP fuel caustic]

All the stuff I saw on google is motorcycle related, and I think most of those vp's are not the same as unleaded 109.
hmmm

I guess I watch the details a tad bit more. But also my backround comes from racing. So we are exposed to it more.
Also I'm not bad mouthing VP.. They make good gas. I just wanted people to know the risks and how to protect themselfs.

It depends which VP fuel you use. Some of the stuff they make is crazy. The "secret" SR-1 blend designed to pass SCCA fuel tests while being highly oxygenated and containing ridiculous energy is $40 per gallon and will eat anything it touches. I.E., drain it out of your car when you're done racing. Some of their regular street unleaded blends are quite acceptible for daily use.

I use Chevron or Shell 91 all the time for my Subie. I use Arco for the 240 usually, but that's because it is cheaper. I don't generally use 76, but I'll remember to stay away from that station if I'm up there.
Lucky East Coasters with their 93 octane. And kinder emissions regs.
