I drive that section of 680 almost every day, and I have the HKS hi-power exhaust. I guess I'll have to be ready for the worst if I ever get pulled over.

then if you feel that the cat back is less than the legal limit, take the car tot he referee and they will measure the noise level. If you pass you are certrified. But in my eyes it does not matter. I bet if you got stopped again and he did cite you for modified exhaust and showed him the paperwork that it is certified he would still ticket you since "it is up to the referee to decide".
what other mods do you have?
cheers and good luck.

right now i only have a fmic, intake, inlet hose, and catback. I sold my old turbo, injectors, uppipe/downpipe, etc... and am about to put in the kingpin gt3040 turbo kit, perrin fuel rails, pe800's, pwr radiator, etc...
Has anyone passed with a turbo inlet before? When installing the perrin one i broke my stock one so i didnt have to remove the intake manifold. Thats the only part that wont be stock when i go to the state ref.

If you got ticketed for CVC 27151, u don't need a smog check from the ref. You can just get it tested for noise certification. As long as u have the "correctible violation" checked, then u should be all set. If it is unchecked, then u may have to get smogged. I don't know.
FYI, I got pulled over for that CVC with only an hks hi power catback (everything else stock). Went to state ref and got it tested and it came out at 92.5 dB at 4500 rpms. They allow a + or - of about 1 dB if over 95 dB.

anyone have any luck getting in contact with the state referee appointment center? I've been calling the number on the back of the ticket for over an hour and i can't get through. It keeps saying all agents are busy and if i would like to go through the automated process press 1, i do and then i get disconnected. Is there a number anyone else used besides 1-800-622-7733
