49er News

Terell Owens will remain a 49er through 2006! woohoo! Only problem with that is he might get traded Owens' manager messed up and didn't file the necessary paperwork to release Owens as a free agent. This means that Owens is forced to take a big paycut.

I personally like Owens regardless of his behavior on the field. But I think Garcia should leave, because I believe the 49ers will never win a championship with him. Maybe the niners could somehow pick up Kurt Warner or something.

On other news, Garisson Hearst was released from the 49ers.

The team is fine, Erickson or however you spell his name should leave. I rather have Mariucci back or somethin'.

Owens still won't be back. Imagine how pleasant he'll be when he's that pissed about his contract.

Assuming they don't win the grievance.

Let TO go. Who cares. There ain't no I in team. Everyone talking **** on Erickson gets old. You've gotta give the man a chance to prove himself. Mariucci was a puss when it came down to it. He never "went for it".

Marriucci won a super bowl period. Erickson has given the '9ers losing seasons.

I'm a TO fan, but as much I personally would like him to stay, he'd be better off somewhere else. Garcia had a nice run and is a GOOD QB, but TO needs a guy who can see over the line and has a stronger arm. Besides, TO's antics aside, he is waaay underpaid/appreciated in the Bay.

Erickson overall has a losing record in the nfl, wasnt to successful at Seattle and it showed that this past season with the 49ers that theres room for a lot of improvement, after taking over the 49ers I have to say the team looked better with mariucci, but then again I didn't expect a whole lot being it was his first season with the team, but I didn't expect the past season to go this bad.
Owens more than likely will be let go, he dosent enjoy playing with the 49ers or then on top of it has to take a pay cut, only way i can see him staying is if the 49ers let go of garcia which they might do, because Garcia wants a big contract that the 49ers cant offer him. Owens gets along with the second string qb tim rattay, so if hes moved as the starter then Owens may have a change in mind, im thinking this is the only way he can stay.
If Owens is traded, then I hope the niners get another big player for him, or some quality players, but more than likely this will be hard to because any team that takes owens will have to pay him a huge sum of money then on top of it lose a player or give up a first round draft pick which many teams dont even wanna give up a second round pick and all this money.

although im not a niner fan i do think over the off season the niner staff hasnt made the best decisons. i think they should have signed julian first and slapped TO w/ a franchise tag to atleast get a first round draft pick out of it. erikson has yet to prove him self as a good coach. rattay should be your starter and id rather see garcia with my dolphins rather than stoopid fiedler or feely

I wish mora jr. was our coach. He'll be a great one in Atlanta. They should have hired him last season. Does it bother anyone else that they let go of derrick deese? He hasn't given up a sack in like 2 seasons or something outrageous like that? Plus he can play guard as well, which is his natural position. They should have cut someone else for cap reasons. Gah, niners managment and coaching si terrible. York and Donahue have to go.
