4 weeks for a Head Gasket?!?
On 2/19/14, I took my 2012 Tribeca (40k miles) in for an oil change 4 weeks ago at my local dealer. While waiting, I get a call from the service writer stating that there's a "slow leak" and that they need to replace the head gasket. He says it's covered under the power train warranty and they'll give me a loaner car for the duration of the repair.
As of today, they have still not completed the repair. Their reason being only one person is "certified" to work on the 3.6 H6 of the Tribeca. This person is also the foreman of the shop and can only work on it a few hours per shift.
Does this sound reasonable? I've been without my car for almost 4 weeks and last I checked, they would need another week or so to complete the job. Anything sound awry here?

You mean Punt-Em?
Talk to Carlsen or Serramonte to see if there's any avenues or suggestions as to your rights to a timely repair or if there's any help they might be able or willing to offer. They may need to call SOA for the OK with you present if it's an option.
Cough-cough, next time take it ..... to .......... Subaru. I hear their service and parts staff rules and their Wholesale Rep rocks.
*Nothing going on here, never said a thing. Rrrrrriiiiiggggghhhhhhttttt guys?

you hvae their loaner car right? enjoy putting **** TONS of miles on their dime, and saving your own car.
Yea 4 weeks is insane, but on the flip side thats 4 weeks you didn't put miles on your own car

Yea, if they didn't provide the loaner this would be a very different situation. The loaner is a Dodge Journey which is not too bad actually. It's a 4 cylinder FWD vs. the Tribeca's H6 AWD. Gets better gas mileage but is not as nice IMO.
Just a little miffed on why this would take so damn long.
