3G iPhone, Jailbreak, Cydia - Impressions?
Did mine on Friday, everything is running well. How much more modding is there? Seems like everything there is to do (that I'd want), I've done.
Intelliscreen app is badass, still on the 10 day trial but I think I might buy the license for it.
Is it time already to just enjoy the phone and leave it alone?
Haven't figured out how to SSH into the phone to do other stuff. What's the quickest and easiest way to change the background behind the icons?
Some screens:

I could easily resell it for 300+ but i won't because i like it more than the 3g iphone.
I am trying to find a good shell client so i can ssh. Any suggestions? I don't care if I have to pay for it really..

Under "Latest Files" on the left side, you'll want to dl the correct firmware you're on and also WinPwn 2.0.0.4 if you're on a PC.
The tutorial on how to use WinPwn:
http://www.modmyifone.com/forums/pwn...se-winpwn.html
This works perfectly for a 3G on 2.0.1 firwmware. Itunes works fine, app store works fine, no problems.

I might know an answer in a week.

I know Rescuer on i-club is also on modmyiphone, hopefully more jailbreak guys will help out us noobs.
I had my first gen jailbroken, and I did my new 3G as soon as winpwn came out weeks ago
there aren't enough programs converted to the new 2.0 yet. it's taking awhile to port them over.

i chopped up the mp3 to 40secs then imported to itunes. right click>save as aac. go into folder where you're synced, find file, rename to .m4r. itunes now sees it as a ringer, sync, and then it's on your phone.
i think that is the gayest and longest way to do it, hahahaha. so yeah, i only did one ringtone so far.
my source for info was that site and not sure if it has any stuff on touches...

pics!
but they just released it, so it just needs a few tweaks. only thing smsnotify doesn't do that intelliscreen does is wake up the phone and make the screen flash.
i modified my original smsnotify to alert me every two minutes with the glass tone since it's a loud ding ding noise.

i don't watch the news, and am not into sports, so i don't really want to pay for intelliscreen just for the alerts when smsnotify works fine

I've had my 3G for almost 3 weeks now. Coolest gadget I've ever owned. I was surprised at how fast and accurate the GPS is on it. It will show me walk from one side of my house to the other. Myself and neighbors all have wi-fi going so all internet stuff is really fast. Unfortunately no 3G in this part of the bay area.
Favorite Aps:
Loopt
2 across (crossword)
Labyrinth
Enigmo
Shazam (still can't believe how well this works)
GPS tracker (this is awesome for those wishing to track someone with or without them knowing.)

Shazam is pretty crazy, haha. Maps isn't that great and I haven't tried GPS tracker though. Might have to give that a go.
