Having only seen the previews; I'm guessing that even though it's vaguely based on a historical incident, it's really a modern allegory of our special forces going up against "the enemy". How'd I do?

kinda, maybe...

it was 300 men vs 1000000...

to me, this movie is more how the general of the 300 men to tell the leader of the million to "MOLON LABE" than anything else...

nah no allegory. Just a bunch of naked buff dudes kicking the crap out of faceless enemies, then feeding them the crap so they could get more crap kicked out of them.

Even the old guys were buff. So awesome.


Also, 1000 fought to the death at Thermopylae. The movie makes the Spartans look like idiots who died for the heck of it. Historically they and 700 others sacrificed themselves so the other 4000 Greeks who fought at the battle could retreat.
