-6-speed manual or CVT
-same 6-speed as Forester Xt, except cable linkage instead of rods
-power steering ratio now 13.3:1 (old was 14.8:1)
-230% stiffer steering mounts
-front brake rotors now 12.4" (old was 11.6")
-stiffer springs, dampers, x-members, subframe bushings, front control arms
-predicted to attain 1.10g during cornering
-new LED display for torque split, boost level, mpg, icy-road warnings, and more
-D style steering wheel
-only sedans for now

-STI retains 2.5L turbo, unclear if it'll still be EJ257

When was the WRX ever just a sedan? STi yeah, but not the WRX.

The only thing I can see that I don't like about this design is the "me too" 6 sided grille that just about every single other manufacturer is using, and the way they have also followed the masses and made the front section a cap where the grille is included in the bumper. You can see this on there as well as Corollas, BMW 3 and 5 series, and a few others that are doing this. Basically it will be much easier for them to update the front of the car as they go since the hood will not need to change anymore to do this as it did previously between 2002-03, 2004-05 and 2006-07 cars. It's not a big deal, but it stands out as this big droopy line across the front of the car, and when I see it, I know it's just there to make things cheaper. Most people won't notice this, and a lot will think I am dumb for caring, which is how/why things get crappier over time.

No joke. If they drop another 300hp STI I'm gonna be pissed.

Here's my input.

1. The headline is stupid. From my understanding it's no longer an "Imprezza."
They are separating the lines.... imprezza model and STI/WRX model. No longer an Imprezza STI... just an STI.

2. It's ****ing ugly. Sorry. The front is ALMOST o.k. but it looks like an evo and a civic hooked up in a back alley and a mazda jumped in. The back... terrible. Looks like a civic or a camry. This kind of stuff is fine for the imprezza. NOT for the STI/WRX.

My hopes were that by splitting the platforms they'd be able to put all the safe design b.s. on the imprezza and go back to big fenders and big fog lights on the wrx/sti. Guess I was wrong.

3. The wheels are ugly.

4. WAY too high for a "sports sedan"

5. Looks chubby.

So... just another wrx i have ZERO interest in purchasing. I'll just put the money back in to my wagon and keep driving that until Subaru pulls their heads out of their asses. Sooner or later I'm just gonna end up buying a freaking truck.

What do you mean "me too"? They basically started that grille trend with the Legacy a few years ago...so technically, everyone else copied Subaru Yes, Audi started the geometric thing. What started with the current Legacy can be seen in the entire Subaru lineup right now, except the BRZ for obvious reasons, and even on the BRZ the resemblance is there. Brand identification.

The reason you see styling similarities between this and Toyota is because Toyota is involved in the styling now...

I like it. I don't like it more than the GD/GG body style, but I like it.

The REAL question is what will that 2.5l be. Will it be a FA/FB variant? I am betting it will be.

I assume a new 2.5L would be a bored/stroked FA20.

I wouldn't be surprised if the sti got only 330hp as an "upgrade"

Why do you guys think the STI need more power? To drag race? To out pull Shelby's on the track? To merge onto the freeway faster?

300 is plenty for every non professional use you can do with it as far as I need. I just want an incredibly tuned suspension, beefy hubs and drivetrain, 6sp, and stiff chassis.

Because... they've been running the same HP for 10 years.
