Probably a smart move by Subaru. The STI is getting expensive and the WRX will sell more volume this way.

And for the people who really want the STI (like me) they don't give a ratsazz about looks and 1/4 mile times, but do care a lot about tougher 6sp tranny, stiffer springs and inverted struts, tougher hub bearings, DCCD, and bigger more heat resistant brakes. And yeah, I'll pay more.

Oooohhh-O! I like. Nice going Subaru. They should add the forest sti to the mix while they're at it.

i think it'd be nice if they made the wrx more like the current sti (which i guess they already are) and made the sti more raw/hardcore/edgy/whatever like previous generations

Wait DCCD is on the new WRX? I didn't see that in the article?

No, he's saying DCCD is on the STI giving it another reason why you would want to move up from the WRX to the STI.

Man the guys that all got 08s get their noses rubbed in it once again. As if the power up grades weren't enough...

WOW! Its amazing how much better that car looks with just the addition of wide fenders!!! It makes the car look like a Subaru and not a Saturn (the original 08, 09, 10 sedan looks like a damn saturn, VERY UGLY, sorry sedan owners )

wow, I cant believe Subaru actually did something COOL! This comes as such a surprise to me! I couldnt stand the WRX sedan... I didn't like the WRX hatch either but the STi hatch is VERY sexy thanks to the little STi bits and most importantly the wide body on the STi. The wide body hatch looks sooooo much better than the non-wide body hatch, but the difference between the normal sedan and the wide body sedan is un-friggin-believable! The STi VS the WRX hatch is a big difference, but the regular vs wide body sedan difference is HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE!!!

I feel bad for all the people that bought the non-wide body WRX sedans... I'd be friggin PISSED if I bought a 2010 (non wide body) sedan and to find out that this came out for 2011!!!

Subaru should have done this originally... If they would have they would have sold maaaaaaaaaaany more sedans. I hardly ever see WRX sedans, they are always hatch backs, but I'm sure we'll see a lot more 2011 sedans now that subaru has their head screwed in straight. WTF were they thinking with the 08 sedan? I cried a little when I first saw it. We all thought the bug eyes were HORRIBLE when they came out, but the 08 sedan makes the 02 bug eye look like some award winning design (I like the bug eyes now, but they were HORRIBLE when were first saw them, but the 08 sedan takes the cake x1000000000000)

EDIT: The tail lights on the sedan REALLY need to change. They are the weakest point of the car and no subaru in the history of the Impreza has ever had lights that look that terrible. It's like they copied Saturn for their tail lights. Its not just the chrome or color, it's the entire shape and placement of the tails that make them look awful so sadly nothing can really be done to make them look proper (no film, color, etc).
