i love the new STI, it look so much better in person. i will trade in my 06 wrx for it if i have enough money. lol

 

I've officially grown to like it... As a wagon owner, the STi hatch is sweet !

 

WTFs up with no "STi" paint on the IC? looks like crap without it...no point in popping the hood

 

We were told that the price starts at $35k to $40k. I think it is over priced.

 

It was priced at like 36k a few days ago at LA.

 

im sure the price will drop it down a little bit after its been on sale. first year of the new STI is not gonna be sold too much. 35k is ok, but 40k is a no no

Lovin' the looks of the new STi ! It's got that aggressive,rally style look.
But WOW on the price !

 

I did not take a picture of the seats, but I sat in them. They do feel more comfortable than my 07 WRX. But I am not sure about how they hold on a corner since they are softer.

 

I like it personally...but I agree with mynikonlens, it is overpriced. whats up with the STi transmission? you can switch from automatic to manual transmission?

 

No Recaro seats for us huh?! And the 7K redline the previous model have has been reduced too.

Actually that one is $39k since it has the nav system. The base will be $35k with 5-spoke Enkei wheels, then $36-37k for the one with BBS rims, and $39k for the nav+BBS. The exterior of the car is very striking, and very aggressive looking (more so in person than in pictures). The interior quality is much better than the previous STIs and there's a bunch of suede trim all over the place. The seats are a dissapointement since they don't have much lateral support for your legs. But I don't believe that those seats were the production STI seats since they were basically the same as 08 WRX seats. I guess we'll have to wait until January to see. Overall though, I think we have a winner.

PS: The reason for the higher cost of the new STI were cited as being the new SI-drive system, and the fact that it uses much more dedicated parts than the previous STI. The fenders, bumpers, etc are all built just for STI, unlike the slapping on of add-on body parts to the wrx body with the previous STIs.
