2008+ impreza tail light housing for 5 door
to make a long story short, i need to replace my tail lights on my 09 wrx 5 door. brand new they retail for ~$300, which is pretty pricey. does anyone know of any other reliable sources/anyone around here that i could purchase some used ones from? maybe a website? i tried searching on pick-n-pull but had no luck. i'm trying to spend ~$150, which may be wishful thinking...
any info would be greatly appreciated!

Stevens Creek Subaru, ask for Ryan a.k.a. "Unit 91" and tell them you're from I-Club. They give you a small discount on parts. Great people at the parts department. Good luck.

yes haha.
originally i did the red with the brake lights clear but i thought it would look cool with a light smoke over the whole thing. i bought some vht night shades but when i applied it, the paints started bubbling. i tried covering it up, but it looks like doo-doo and is way too dark. its been about 2 or 3 months since i did that and i finally got pulled over the other day and got a fix it ticket.

I just did mine with red metalcast krylon from Autozone. One can took care of 3 coats on all four tail light elements. What have you tried to take the paint off with? Wet sanding with 1k or 2k grit paper do anything for you?

i did a combination of industrial strength paint remover (don't remember the brand but i used the whole can) and i did wetsand it/use a razor blade to try and scrape off as much paint as i could then sprayed some more night shades to cover it up. looks okay from a few feet away but terrible up close.
i understand why the cop cited me for it, as they do look very dark from a distance but you can still see the red through them pretty well when you apply the brakes and at night time when they are illuminated. regardless, they are still too dark for my liking...
