I was already Thinking about the 17th (Third Sunday)... the 24th would be too late because school will start on the 25th... The 10th or the 3rd might work better... I still need to go to the park and talk to them... but August seems like it would be the ideal month.

I vote for NOT the 10th of August cause my berfday is the 11th and I will be at the lake wakeboarding all weekend... The other 4 Sundays are fine with me though.

I think the 3rd is probably best for most folks. We cannot please everyone. Like I have 3 Autoxs the first 3 weekends in August, so i'd be missing one for sure.

i'm a bit of an amateur meteorology nerd
... since it was my best friend's major & i vigilantly watch the weather for all my outdoor recreation needs, i got hooked up w/ all kinds of links & whatnot.
generally, both july & august are equally HOT months in the south bay. "mild" is not a word i'd use to describe either of them. hmmm... is that why they call that big gathering in reno "HOT august nites"?!?
here's a graph of average monthly temps in san jose fr: weather.com and another fr: noaa.gov (large governing body that the nat'l weather svc is a part of). we could also expect to bump the numbers up a notch or two (for the summer months) since we're up near the 2500 ft elevation.
i am, by no means, complaining nor trying to convince folks to have the meet in "mild" october. i'm simply presenting some info to say that, as usual, the hammy meet will be HOT! i personally think either month is fine. it's certainly bearable & the date typically has worked out w/ most folks' obligations & commitments.
so bring on the heat & bring on the fun! whatever date works best for the majority of folks would be great! i know i don't have to say this, but we're out there for the comraderie, fun, community, etc. if it's gonna be insanely HOT, i guess jeremy will have to bust out the new & improved slip'n'slide!
i'll volunteer to bring water ballons!

I am thinking about getting some stuff from astro jump... some things like maybe a slip n slide and a dunk tank...

maybe a water slide would be good...

Or is everyone too old for astro jumps?

We'll be in Fremont, much closer to the bay and by august the air pressure drop in the valley (due to heat up during the day) brings in that great breeze off the sea. August is also when by evening time we tend to see fog get pushed into the bay due to same wind pattern. We should be blessed with something in the low 90s with a breeze for august 3rd in fremont.
