Angry 2 things...

First of all, living on top of Skyline road in Woodside sucks when you have to drive a rental car. (For those of you who don't remember, my car was wounded by some metal debris on I-5 when I was moving down from Seattle) So, I am stuck with a friggin Toyota Echo until Friday! UGH...enough ranting, it actually performed OK on Page Mill road this morning (can't wait until my Suby is back though)

Secondly, I'm not used to seeing roads speed limits with "Enforced by Aircraft" on them. How seriously do they monitor roads like 280? I was going 75 in a 65 this morning going to the airport, and people were BLOWING by me like nothing! You probably are all used to it, but up in the NW, usuallylthe fastest person i MAYBE 10 over.

BTW, I LOVE this area. Spent all day in SF yesterday, spent the day before sailing all around the Bay.

If you see me, HONK!

I wouldn't worry much about aircraft on 280, but they do use radar.

they do keep a decent eye out but it's pretty rare you hear of them nailing people with planes.

Someone did just get popped though.

I'm pretty sure it works like this.

You are flying down the freeway. Plane picks you up. marks you. Finds you speeding. Calls in the description and they put a car in your way...they pick you up as you go by them....

They do not patrol as often as they would like you to think (planes). I mean those signs are up everywhere but they can't patrol all at once...you know.

What they've been doing lately around here is no tolerance zones. They will get most of the chp in a certain area and put them on one stretch of highway...and nail everyone. I mean they say they will stick you for 67 in a 65....but generally speaking......up to like 72 is pretty safe. even in the no tolerance zones. but yeah....when they are doing the no tolerance zones you'll no. So take it easy on that stretch of road for a couple weeks. They move around.

in the bay area I find that if you stay around 10 over...you're fine.

Oh, the Echo would be bad a$$ if you lowered it and added a set of wheels and a fart can.

Just kidding.

Dude, the Echo owns. I actually do like the headlights, very bright, but a sharp beam cutoff at night.

If you look at the rear end of the echo from behind it actually looks SOMEWHAT like a WRX but morphed / squished.

The aircraft radar thing may be for reals, maybe not, but police enforcement on 280 is like this: either there is no cop for the entire stretch, or they're doing a crackdown with a cop every few miles. And the cops know people drive fast there so they drive faster than most freeways there, I know from first hand experience.

If he does that, his Subie then will feel hella slow (at least according to the power e-turbo power claims).

No kidding. I once did 25 miles in 15 minutes on 280. I was late for work
