2.5wrx vs 2.5legacy

What makes the legacy 250hp over the wrx 230hp? Does anyone know the engine differences that make the 20hp difference.

Same reason the Baja 2.5 makes 210hp, the Forester 2.5 makes 230hp and the STi 2.5 makes 300hp.

The engines are all (relatively) the same, its just the turbo and the tuning.

Hrm... I'm not sure if that's completely accurate. Aren't the heads and other internals different?

some may be, but the most significant differences come in the turbo and tuning. iirc the AVCS was present on some models and not on others, but I don't know specifics.

I don't believe the internals are, unless the new 06 Impreza's finally got the forged bits that were rumored to be in them (maybe STi only). And there may be some minor differences in the heads, but nothing to really to do with performance. All the engines have the same compression ratio, so I assume the difference in heads are minimal at best.

But, for some more details:
The LGT has a different intake manifold (plastic composite rather then steel) with a side fed intercooler and a drive-by-wire throttle body. From what I've heard pretty much everything else is interchangable; injectors, spark plugs, heads, etc.
