1st time on the track with my WRX. . . advise?

I got my first track day with the Subie comin up soon. I only have 3 track days experience from my old car over 3 years. ( Basicaly, go once a year)

What adjustment set-ups do you suggest with my set-up? At least to start with and then to move up to?

I currently have for daily driving:

AGX's/ prodrive springs set on 2ront/2 rear.
Helix rear sway bar and endlinks --- set in the middle.
235/45/17 Toyo T1s'
Carbotech Bobcats pads.
Goodrich s.s.lines.

Any experienced advise welcome, Ready to learn.

~thanks

My thought first off would be that you better have better than stock pads! Sounds like your setup will be a great start w/ a WRX on the track. Nice, start real slow, exaggerate the line and you'll be having a blast in your car in no time. I recommend Porterfield R4-S pads.

I've never tracked my car...but I would suggest putting more air in your tires. Maybe, 38 psi all around so you don't get as much sidewall flex and save a little tread as well.

brakes and tires will be your biggest concern. Get something better than stock brakes, and maybe look into some uprated brakefluid (motul or superblue) to avoid having the brakes go away on you.

Above all, take it easy since you will need the car to still drive you home after the event!

you do not have a front sway? and your helix rear swaybar is set in the middle? thats already alot of potential snap oversteer. just dont take your foot off the throttle in mid-turn . but i highly suggest a front swaybar fo r3al.

i learned the hard way. at buttonwillow, i spun out like at 80mph. went into a turn too hot and let off, spun out and went into the dirt, i thought i was gonna flip over. i had a cusco rear bar set at the softest (22mm i think) with no front swaybar. this was on prodrive springs and stock struts.

I'd say get a really good alignement. There are a few places that i've heard recommended. I know Custom Alignment does a great job, but a bit pricey.

I def agree on a minor or major brake upgrade (Lines,Fluids,Pads and if possible Rotors). Youll notice right away how fast your stock brakes will fade especially on the track. You wont have as much fun cuzz youll feel like you cant push it a little.

Allignment might be an option if yours is out or you have the ability to adj camber. If so you might want to think about running -1 degree camber all around for better in and out during cornering. Tire pressure will make a great difference. You might have to play with it a little due to each is to there own on what there looking for.
