1st POST EVER!!! ? about STi seats

What's up y'all! I've heards lots of great things about the people on i-club and from what I can tell from browsing they're all true. I just traded in my Mustang for an STi last Friday...yeah needless to say..I'm freakin STOKED with it. Big time. I always wanted a WRX in '01 but opted for the Mustang Bullitt instead....I know, I know! Anyway, my question was this: I'm driving across country to live in New York and the sleet and snow for a year. What is the best product to protect the Suede on my seats? Any tips/product reccomendation would be awesome. Should I just buy Suede Scotch Guard? Thanks.

don't spill sh*t on it and treat it nicely. But I wouldn't worry about them too much. I'm sure you'll want to get aftermarket seats soon enough.

just invest in some cheapo seat covers and spend the rest of the dinero on new all season tires.

The seats will be fine, just don't be a slob

For tires, DEFINATLY get some winter tires because the stock tires are NOT made for snow. Maybe get some ROTA's for winter wheels so you don't have to switch back and forth.

Good luck!

well I guess the first tip to give you is that your STi seats arent suede (ha!)

JDM and UK have suede centers, US get Alcantara

Don't cover up the airbags - they won't deploy properly in an accident and might cause injury.

The JDM and EDM seats use the same material. My Ver6 seats and Daves Ver 7 seats use the same material too. We just get the wiiiiiide seat for us fat ol' Americans. I was at the limit for my JDM seats in the RST. I was pushing 200 lbs and almost 6'1" tall. Any more weight and I would have had to sell the seats. I like the space of the new seats, but the JDM seats hold you in better. But they put pressure on my ribs on long drives. It got to be a little un comfortable after a while.

GG STi15, I agree with Max. Get new tires soon if you are planning snow and such. The RE 070 are no good for it. Keep them for the Summer and get a good set of all season tires for the snow and ice. Are you done with the break in? If not, just wait. You will be jumping around like this  when you do. What color did you get? I have a white one with silver wheels and 2 lbs of brake dust. Those big Brembos make all sorts of dust and it sticks to the wheels like glue. It's a big pain in the butt go get rid of it too. Enjoy the club and welcome aboard.

So...got an Sti...hmmm...I think we gotta race....just kidding. Marty has a blue Sti (kinda gray from the dirt) with silver BBS wheels...wait a minute...I mean gold...just looks silver with all the dust. Its about time you traded the Bullit...and got an Sti. All I can say is Thunderhill when you get back from the 8 feet of snow next year. Later-

Thanks for the advice...yeah the car is kinda blue w/goldish wheels...I'm finding out that the OEM pads are are little more than just dusty...DAMN. Yeah my first three purhcases after the car were a basic stereo, Rota SDR wheels and a set of Bridgestone Blizzak LM Smow and muds...I could tell that the R070's wouldn't cut the mus-turd...although I know a couple of people back east that have tried. They are surprisingiy gripp-y in the rain...well anything is compared to the meats I had on the Stang. Hey RAY! thanks for the post assist my friend...can you say first run 3 :45... Good times. Good times. It will be officially broken in after this weekend...ahhhhhh yyyyyeaaaahhhhh.
