235/40=ROFL... your speedo will read 80 when you're going a little above 70.
245/40=ok... still a little short. this is the widest you should go with most street tires.
255/40=best. if your tires have stiff sidewalls (i.e. falken azenis rt-615, hankook r-s2, etc.) you can run 255's.

I'm running 19x8..tires 235/35/19..didn't roll my fenders..could probably fit a 19x8.5 but I wasn't sure so got conservative to say the least.

Do they look big to you? I have another set of wheels though, 18x8.5 that I interchange in case I have to go AutoXing or something.

how do you get such wide tires to fit on stock suspension?
i've got 225's on my GC and they are dangerously close to my struts (like a couple pieces of paper)

I think it has something to do with the color of the rims...they're gunmetal and don't really comeout that loud like white. Ideally, performance-wise, a wide 17 inch wheel is the way to go but since I'm not "tracking" the car, a little "bling" doesn't hurt. Whatever floats your boat right?
