+1 for Capitol Subaru in San Jose

Been shopping around for a few months, trying to get a decent deal on a 2010 WRX. Eugene @ Capitol Subaru put up with all my 'I know how much these cars really cost cuz I saw it on the internet' crap, and gave me the deal I wanted on a Spark Silver 2010 WRX Hatchback. I really wanted a WRB one , but it was sold before I could get to it.

Just wanted to give credit where credit was due (or given if you count the low APR). They didn't work the hard sell on me, even the finance guy took it in stride when I said 'nein' to the add-ons we always get pitched before getting the car keys.

I have to say that the 2010 feels WAY more refined than my GD chassis Impreza. Took the l-o-n-g route home today on mostly city streets, I've gotta rack up these motor break in miles under 4500 rpm ASAP. As well as oh red out the tails, get some STi bucket seats, black out the grille 'mustache, get an STi catback, and hook up my stereo system...amongst other things.

Viva!

2 dudes i talked to said they have great customer service, however when having their vehicles serviced they came back with missing parts ( bolts here and there, scratches and damage to the interior)

Congrats on the new car, I love my 04 but there is always that temptation for a new one (or new used). What kind of rates were they offering. Any 0% deals? They have popped up in the past few years...

I'm no expert but be sure to vary the rpm's a lot... I know everyone has an opinion on engine break in but varying the rpm's with acceleration and deceleration seems to be a consensus. If I had a brand new motor I would stay away from anywhere that had traffic and head to the hills for some nice spirited driving - accelerating fast, smooth at different speeds and boost and then decelerating smoothly, rev match, etc... not beating on the car but definitely not babying it either!

I did about 80 miles today, lotsa rpm changes. will do about 100mi tomorrow after work, gotta go pickup my stereo & radar wiring. tint should be done Weds, I probably wont have time to paint on a dirty sanchez to the front grille or do the tail lights this week. *sad panda*

In terms of maintenance... I do all my own standard maintenance, been working on cars for a good 15 years now, will let LIC do the 30k svc when I get there.

@ dang - dude it feels like a stg2 wrx outta the box...well almost.

Congrats on the new buy! And capitol took car of me when my motor blew even knowing it had some mods done to it even though I took them off mostly. The guys in the parts department are pretty cool too. I ordered a sport grille from them and I should get it tomorrow. We blacked out the mustache on my buddies 2010 and it looks pretty good. But my dad owns a body shop in the bay area so if you want to go sport grille PM me cuz we get a big discount and no tax ;-)

Yeah, I love the guys @ Capitol Subaru. If you mentioned "i-club" at their parts department, it gets you 10% off.
