1 by 1 we're getting stripped of freedom!
I don't know whether I'm more shocked by the supposed content of this video or the laughable excuse at objective reporting. Is the dog wagging?
I'm not sure what current policy is but I'm sure that the NSA already does huge amounts of screening of online content. The FBI's cyber crimes division already has the ability to break in to your PC. They likely need a warrant first, but cyber evidence is rarely hard to come by with a little determination. The targets of this treaty, as stated by the video, and p2p users and file sharers, a lot of which is already illegal. This kind of activity is already criminalized! The treaty doesn't change that. Learn to torrent.
On the subject of computer security: Norton and Symantec are both lacking. Internet security software (firewall, virus scanner, etc...) isn't particularly thorough on its own. They aren't bad things to have, but a solid firewall on your router and security measures taken on a network level are infinitely more valuable.

This pot thing and whatever nonsense isn't such a huge deal. The bigger picture is WHY THE HELL can't we ask or get a receipt or get anything that shows where our money is being spent and how it's being spent by a government who controls the whole nation? There are checks and balances for everything in our constitution, and by far the Presidential branch has been gaining more and more power (playing with our money without audits, declaring a war without actually the declaration part with congress, etc.).
It's a big Madoff or Enron organization that controls this country. I bet if we get rid of the Fed Reserve and back out of foreign nations, like Ron Paul has been sayin for years (but doesn't get any back) then maybe we might look like a normal nation not trying to take over the world. (which it seems with our US bases in more than half the countries in the world).
The whole idea about "protection our nation and allies from threat" and "terrorism" is just a hoax to invade other nations and keep troops there permanently. The constitution doesn't say we have to do that.
But we're the brilliant country that thinks we are doing the right thing
Screw the Fed Reserve, since 1913 they've gotten control of this country and we have been doing their bidding ever since.
A return to the Gold Standard is difficult to swing. No country in the world uses it anymore. The "standard" has been the US dollar for some time now. Even if a there was a large push to use the Gold Standard there isn't enough gold in the world to equal the number of currency floating about in the US alone. Using the Gold Standard would signifigantly reduce the value of gold relative to the dollar.
In terms of government spending:

I believe more specific information is actually available through your Congress person, Senator, and/or Library of Congress.
Does this mean Ron Paul is a Hippy?
I hate to expand on a tangent but I've never seen an original poster derail their own thread. It was interesting enough to provoke a response. It's also interesting that every thread made by the original poster seems to come back to the same points. I smell a trend.
That information is new to me and does change the dynamic of the issue. Apparently the higher ups in Government Organizations have stronger ethics than the CEOs at symantec and norton. Who's the ***** now?

our rights are being stripped left and right.
...good luck US.
