Any one know if the 04 grill fits on the 02/03?

 

if you're talking about just the black insert on the 04, then no.

1. The 04 grill section is just a black piece of plastic minus the two side pieces next to the lights

2. There is a more pronounced angled curve at the lower corners because it needs to conform with the bumper's opening, which is something the 02 didn't need to do.

I tried swapping my sti grill into my 02 wagon, it doesn't even remotely fit

 

thanks for the info. I don't like the large honeycomb look of the stock 02 grill.

 

I know but forking over ~ $250 new is just too much for cosmetic. I've been searching for a used one but nothing in black.

If, in the unlikely circumstance that I decide to keep my car, I am going to convert to the 04 front end, and drop a 2.4L stroked 2.2 in there.
