If it's properly working it won't cause any damage (GFBs are known to leak anyways), your car just won't run as well as it can and it could make the car slightly slower.

I personally wouldn't use it.

Is it the 50/50 hybrid or the fully adjustable hybrid valve? I would not run the 50/50 one because its going to tank your mpg.

a BOV is the last item you should be considering for upgrade.

Do the basics first, get rid of the banjo filters, loose the snorkus, toss a good no oil filter in the airbox. Go with the known basics first before you get too deep into the project.

If that is the ONLY mod you've got on your hands right now, I would stick with stock for sure. My first recommendation: make sure everything you have right now works properly and is up to spec before doing any mods.

Don't bother. You'll get boost creep and it won't do anything but make you feel cool for about a week. Keep the stock one until you actually need a BOV to hold more boost.

The service.bulletin they posted references only the 04sti/foz/and Baja 2.5 . I know for a fact they came in the 05 forester as well since I lost my engine that way :'(

Vent to atmospheres usually cause a check engine due to no air recirculating back into the intake tract. The more you vent the more rich between shifts you will be.
