Why are you guys so excited? I thought it was fairly easy to sell a WRX second hand for a decent price... so why the rush to part out your cars and give Subaru some more profit?

There isn't much they can do with the parts individually except resell them as cheap and refurbrished options for Subaru costomers.
If they refurbrish and resell the whole car, they'd flood the market and shoot the resale value way down. So that's out.
Personally, I believe they'd make a whole bunch of money by selling/donating the cars at a lower price to third world countries or testing facilities. A conjunction to this is that certain countries such as China use them for a new line of cabs or police force.
What do you guys think?

But seriously - if I can get ~$1k over trade in for my car, I will do it in a heartbeat. I would rather hand my car back to Suby for less than I want than to let it go to a lowballer who can brag about what a steal he got my pristine, well kept car for.
The funny thing is, someone that wouldn't have bought my car private party would possibly buy it from Subaru at a marked up price. Seen it happen w/ the very same car in the past.
It's not about giving them more profit, it's about taking an acceptable loss to not have to deal with lowballers, joyriders, and the general crap involved with trying to sell a car on your own. My cheaper cars have sold generally to the first person for my asking price. More expensive cars for some reason attract scum.
So, NASI0C seems to be down - can someone toss up a link so I can check this out? Though I am in Israel now and will have to wait till I get home to check my VIN. I am stoked. Hope it works out. I will have some parts for sale..
