I've had a season pass to Bear and been riding there for the last 3-4 years and haven't had a problem like that yet. Last year I left my board out there for about 30 minutes while I had me a couple beers in the bar. I do have a lock and I used to use it when I was at Kirkwood all the time. It sucks that we have to go so far to protect our stuff out there.
They'll get theirs, and hopefully I'll be get a proper replacement.

good idea to check craigslist but also keep checking it during the season and when the season is over. They might think you wont look by then so who knows. Good luck again and hope you find your board.

My Grandfather had his locked 5th wheel RV stolen when driving through AZ on his way to Baja, his then new wife was very positive and since they were meeting friends down there, rented another RV in AZ, and continued their trip - new clothes.
They found their RV in Mexico in a parking lot as they were driving to Baja and stole it back. My Grandfather said he doubted the local authorities would be responsive and since it's his (he still had his keys), he just took it back.
So he showed up with two RV's, his wife was not happy, she hated driving that monster, haha.
I'm really sorry you were ripped off...I've been ripped off more in the last 2 years than in my whole previous life...I can't believe the number of people that think it's okay.

hahaha Good story AntiochCali, your grandfather definitely knows how to get his stuff back.
I can't believe people think its ok either. While I was checking everyones board that was coming toward the resort, I would look back to the racks to see if someone put it back as if they grabbed it accidentally and brought it back. And I remember seeing kids putting their broads on the rack or grabbing their boards and thinking "What if someone snatched up one of these kids boards?" That's something that could really crush a kid and I knew I could never do that to anyone. I was crushed someone stole my board and I'm 24, couldn't even imagine or would want to know how a kid would feel in my shoes.

after my first shoulder surgery i would roll with friends so they could board all day and i would drive back so they could sleep before work.i would sit and watch people all day, checking out boards after people would leave them in the rack.they would see me eyefking them and walk away.

Never leave your stuff unattended, unless you want to chance it getting stolen. I would'nt leave my laptop on a table while i go take a pee, grab some food, whatever, so why leave a board. Sux to be a victim of this so dont take a chance if possible.

Here's the only pic I have of the setup. Excuse my pose was messing around haha

Its an GNU Altered Genetics 155cm snowboard. Green on on top with a DNA strand graphic and a Dakine stomp pad. Has the board's name and size printed right below the stomp pad. Underneath the board its more of a tanish green that says GNU and has a DNA strand graphic also. The bindings are K2 Cinch CTS in black size large. They're pretty much an all metal binding and has a entry/exit setup that allows the highback to fold down kinda like the FLOW bindings have. The latch that releases the highback and the strap adjusters are chrome while everything else is black.

that really sucks man. Some places are known for board theft, like boreal as someone mentioned.
I only leave my board at the top or at the backside of the mountain to eat and use the restroom. This way, people don't have easy access to the parking lot and it'll look weird if someone was snowboarding down the mountain holding an extra board.

Hmm...This thread definitely makes me want to look into getting a lock for my board before I go up again.

That's crazy, sorry to hear man. When I was at BV last weds everyone I talked to was really nice. There were a handful of other snowboarders though who looked like regulars, and I wouldn't trust them next to my ish. Even if signs say no boards/skis I take mine anyways(bathroom, cafe). Or just have friends or gf take 5-10 mins to watch my stuff. I would do the same for them.

Definitely picking up a lock for my next setup. Just found out insurance wont be covering it
Thinking of picking up so steezy's Burton setup but not sure if it'll be too big for me since I'm new. My dad says it should be fine, Burton site says I can fit a 152-162 (so steezy's board is a 158cm) but my gf says the 158 will be too much for me right now.
What do you guys think?
