imprezafest2004
If my car is out of t.o. subaru by the sunday, 21, I will be there. My tranny is getting fixed. Blown 5th gear syncro. I need to talk to the vendors there about the first NATIONAL EVENT imprezafest2004 ( www.imprezafest.org )in st. louis june 21 I am the head promtor for it and this meet will be a nice pre/meet. I have raced that track on my old 93 civic si in 98'. Fun track. We had a top speed limit of 90 that day due all the noobies rolling around, and we had no helmet rule that day. I am not going to be able to race my machine, its not track ready yet (no rims/tires). But I will want to talk to everybody there. Alex, if you would like to shoot me an email at 3jabroneez@sbcglobal.net or jeremy@imprezafest.org that would be awesome. Sorry about the troll?? but since its about similiar things (subaru events) I thought it would be a good idea. I've already been in contact with the other boards (nasioc/clubwrx/wrxtuners/etc).
SEE U THERE>>>>

AHHHHH
I want to go so bad, but I will be at the 12hrs of Sebring that weekend. My flight arrives Monday morning. If I am not totally burnt out, I would love to go.
Can I pay when I show. I would pay upfront, however If I don't get back in time then I will not be able to make it.
Regards,
Michael

Thunderhill only requires the SA-95 standard but the latest Snell specification is the SA2000.
Buttonwillow doesn't specify their track helmet requirements on their web site but it won't be less than SA-95.
EDIT: I don't know if motorcycle helmets are acceptable or not. They are subjected to their own set of rigorous standards by the Snell Foundation. I just discovered that the Snell test facility is located in North Highlands CA, which is in the greater Sacramento metropolitan area.
Maybe someone else with track experience can answer the question about motorcycle helmet use on a road course.

Generally M rated helmets are not allowed on any track inside a car. It all depends on if during tech inspection they check your helmet. They have ratings for a reason, only SA2000 rated helmets are up to date for track use inside a car. There is a big difference between SA and M rated helmets. Motorcycle helmets are built to withstand ONE major impact and are generally lightweight. SA helmets are ment to withstand many smaller impacts (like during a roll over) and are fire proof. If it were my head id use an SA2000 helmet.
See you at the track!

Either way, given the choice, go with the SA2000.

I was under the impression that the only real difference between M and SA rated hemets was the fire protection? Got any links to more info?
