Dooooood, that's nothin'.

Being in the Infantry, my big toe/right foot was forever getting ingrown.
Unless you've been worked on by an Army doctor, you haven't experienced pain.

I do feel your pain about the snowboarding part though.

Got some vicodin

I have been dealing with this SOB for years. I would cut/operate on it myself and it would just grow back in a few months. This time it was so bad that when I layed in bed, the sheet laying on it would hurt

Sad thing is, I think my Left big toe is next The years of skating have truly taken a toll on my feet.

yeah, I was lucky to get 2 shots to numb everything up before he cut it out. If I had to deal with it with no anesthesia, I would have been ballin' like a little girl!!

they say that if you cut your nail straight across that it will start to grow correctly instead of growing out the side. I think their reasoning is that if you think of it like a fan(the little asian hand fan type) the nail keeps building outwards at that same angle or wider as nail material builds up but if you cut it straight across it will grow evenly instead of spreading out. Did that make sense?

Ingrown nails arn't fun, but there is worse. When I was.. hummn 5 or 6 i think it was, I had a close encounter with a lawnmower. Summary is a lawn mower got put on my foot. Ate thru the shoe, started into my right big toe. Stoped before it hit bone. Everything ended up fine cept I have a strangely growing nail now. Now I have always had a very high pain tollerance, but that was not fun.

I think you need to shave your toe hairs while you're at it.

I have been battling this ingrown on my right big toe for a while. I injured it at work from a bad shoe I was wearing and it took a couple months to finally get it under control. It recently did the same thing, but I don't think it going to get bad.

My friend actually had his big toe nail grow through his toe and start to almost come through the bottom of his toe. I don't know he could even handle the pain. He finally got them to cut his nail in half and pull that bad boy out! yikes

Hope it gets better man, and take a trimmer to those hairs!
