Watching it one time will not cut it. Watch it multiple times to appreciate what they did.

At the most fundamental level, FLCL is about growing up and facing the unknown head-on. Others say that it is a 6-episode retelling of Evangelion. What I know is that is God's Own Anime.

I need to re-watch Evangelion.

I only saw the first season, then never really bothered with the OVA's/movies.

That's a good description, but the way in which it is packaged can make you sort of miss that. That's why multiple viewings are likely to be necessary. There's a LOT going on for it being so short.

Others say that it is a 6-episode retelling of Evangelion.
Hmmmm....It has the feel, but not quite the story. Definitely similarities.

When it comes to baseball, "Ookiku Furikabutte" ("Big Windup") was quite enjoyable.

Sakamichi no Apollon or Kids on the Slope:

Real jazz anime.

Guys who made Cowboy Bebop And Samurai Champloo are making this anime.

Hope it's not a repost; didn't read the whole thread.

Oh, and anyone finish Birdy the Mighty: Decode and the 2nd season?
Pretty enjoyable, but there was so much more potential for it. Oh well... was fun watching (and hilarious at times)

Also, after watching Birdy the Mighty: Decode, this became one of my favorite tracks of all the anime soundtracks I've heard
