Picked up one of these up a few days ago. Tried endlessly to get one from Staples all week long so I could use 12% off and a $40 off coupon on top of that, but they never had them in stock when I checked.

Ended up having Circuit City pricematch Fry's and got it for $189. Person who rung me up didn't let me use their $40 off coupon on top of that, although I've heard of people who have had success doing so.

Still for ~$200 it's a great deal. Already started doing the Windows CE and various other hacks to it and it makes a half decent PDA now too.

It's got an internal battery, but you charge it with the included car charge that plugs into the cig lighter.

You can mount it with the window suction thingy, or you can just get creative with some of those stick-on velcro strips you get at Target, Walgreens, or wherever. It mounts to the windhsield just fine, but it does make me a little concenred for the extra attention my car might get. I only mount it when I'm using it. Otherwise, I don't keep the unit itself in the car.

sorry but I just couldn't resist bringing this thread back to life. I just bought one right now from staples by doing a price match since compusa currently has it for sale for like $149.99. so I got 110% price match gurantee so I ended up paying only $155 after tax. Whoa you can't beat that deal anywhere! Ok just thought I'd share with you guys just in case some one else is interested in picking up one of these.

oh few things i noticed after few months of use...

- really no need to hack the darn thing. I hardly ever use the PDA feature
- really no need to get a SD card for it. I don't use it to play anything (MP3/movies)

This thing is so darn great to have. I use it everytime when I have an appointment with my customer. No more google or mapquest before heading out for appt. Much safer for me when I try to get around, since I don't have to look at the direction anymore.

I also like the nice little features like gas station on map, speed warning, route re-calculation.

If you want a decent deal, go to CC, where the original price is $299.99, pricematch it to Fry's 189.99 and get it for ~ $170.

Isn't the "original" price before any discounts $299.99? They should pricematch it from there, if not, Fry's price is always at $189.99, so wait until the sale is over.

And yeah, CC is the most **** about pricematching anything

If they didn't check, you're lucky. When I got this deal before Christmas (fry's price was $199.99 at the time) I had to wait 2 hours because it took them that long to realize they were calling the WRONG number. If you can avoid going to CC, then avoid it as usually they're the most **** about it. Sometimes it's just not worth your time.
