japan here i come.

going to japan(mie ken) for a year or so. i got a few question.... cell phones... expensive?? i am not sure if they have any english phone cause i cant really read kanji. how about the plans?? should i buy a international phone from hawaii instead?

Thats cool. I lived there for 1 year during my Junior year of HS and also for 2 years after that. Damn do I miss it. But in your case, you don't have to worry. There are many phones that you can set to display in English. If you go to Docomo or Vodafone you can get awesome phones. Also the cell phone plans are just about as expensive here as they are there but you get a lot more amenities with their plans.

Oh and Mie-ken is a nice place. Been there.

you can pick up a international cell from the air port that your gonna be fly'n to. I'm guessing its gonna be kansai kuko. Also I think ntt docomo has a phone with english on it.

i dont think its a problem.... cuz my grandparents are from niigata so.....thats a lot harder to understand....

how much you think it is....in hawaii the phone runs for like 299 and up... i know that the japanese phones can't be brought back to the states to be used. so i am in a debate cuz i am going to be there for a year....
