The TT setup was for the Legacy cars in Japan and would be a massive pain in the *** to do in an Impreza not to mention its alot of extra work for something that isn't needed. Just pick your turbo sizing according to what you want to do with the car and there should be no need to swap in the TT Legacy motor which is the same as the WRX motor in that its a plain EJ20. Hell get a T28 ball bearing with the Ej25 and there will be zero turbo lag. However it might limit the ability to push higher boost and hp levels.

well my only thoughts were from reading a article on the skyline and they were saying it was boosting stock in the high teens and just cruising on the highway it woould run almost 2 psi. just thought it might be an interesting project to run a setup that was able to push high boost and still run with little or no lag

It looks like the layered foil stuff that is used as heat shielding under some cars. Its got a layer of foil like metal, then an insulation and then another layer of foil. With the proximity of the exhaust housings to things like the fuse box and wiring I can see why they would insulate the hell out of the things.

I've look it up. However you could look in JEGS since they sell a mat like that which is usually used to wrap alternators and things like that.
I used the stuff off of a junkyard car in the past but I think it would be easier to just order the stuff.
Ironically I ran across this thing when I was searching for the insulation.
