turbo ej25 help.!!!!!
ok im looking for a turbo kit that for a reasonable amount of money (2500-3000, yes im on a budget i work at blockbuster) will provide the best all around power , not to much high or low rpm boost, i plan to build a decent street rs that ill also auto cross whenever possible anyways if someone could just give me some websites with decent kits on them or some ideas or something i need to know sizes types , ect of turbos that i should look at and the specs on other componenets i might need, id like to run about 8 lbs of boost daily and be able to crank it up to 15 or 20 if necessary anyways any ideas help anything greatly appreciated sorry if this post sounds funny its about 2am an dim half awake

www.ludespeed.com or an AVO turbo kit will be the ticket for the kind off money you are willing to spend. You could build a turbo kit. It's a little cheaper.

Just a FYI for that price range I'll naturally assume that you are staying with stock internals. If so, the maximum boost that you are going to want to run daily is ~ 6psi. Anything more and you will begin to run into reliability and durability issues. If you plan on running race gas (goodbye O2 sensors) than I wouldn't push boost much past ~ 9 or 10psi. In order to get your kit installed and tuned I would plan on spending more than $3k. And just another heads up, word on the board is that Ludespeed, one of the more respected RS-T makers, is no longer producing an RS-T kit. Hope that helps.

2.5imprezza, you could do the research that I'm doing and build a reliable turbo kit from the stock wrx turbo parts. WRX turbo, tmic, box, y-pipe, uppipe, downpipe, fuel pump. I recently purchased all of my parts from ebay. Let's don't forget a FMU for fuel needs. I also purchased the wrx injectors, but you really don't need them from the feedback I have recieved from this forum. You will need the flanges from the wrx stock up and dn pipe to have plumbing made that will work on your RST. I had the up and dn pipes made with the wrx up,dnpipe flange made for $100. All total the parts cost me around $600 for the core parts from the WRX. I'll have less than $1000 in my kit with all installation parts I need. Like I said you will have to modify a little but it is fun to tinker and build something from scatch. Don't forget with this added power also comes hidden costs down the road. I went ahead and upgraded my clutch to a dual friction deal. Well I hope that your RST progect is as fun as mine has been.

as for being on a budget, I wouldn't go turbo if I were you. I plan on saving for a turbo kit(3-4k) and then having a spare 1-2k reserve for any possible future problems. Since turboing an RS can easily turn into a black hole for your money if you are not careful. As for the 20psi thing, don't do it.

I wouldn't buy it. It isn't much cheaper than a stage II AVO kit, and isn't nearly as well sorted out. Right now, there are 2 legitimate off-the-shelf RS turbo solutions- AVO and Forced Air Tech. Of the 2, I would go for AVO. Any kit that isn't very specifically designed for an Impreza just isn't worth the investment. The generic kits that are popping up at places like that include "MAP units (black box)" and additional injector controllers. Where exactly are you going to mount 2 additional injectors on your motor? Trust us, just get the AVO or F.A.T.
