You're gonna get tired of that handle real quick...

There is a company making a supercharger kit for the RS called Rimmer Engineering. Don't know if they have a website.

The 1998 RS had a DOHC motor with low compression (9.5:1?), generally considered by most to be the best for forced induction, though personally I prefer my 2001. The 1999 switched to SOHC, but still has low compression. 2000-01 have SOHC, high compression (10:1), but have a MAP sensor instead of MAF. The MAP, Manifold Absolute Pressure, is far more durable, but actually not as good for fine tuning. MAF, Mass Air Flow sensor, works well right up until it gets fried, However, there was a recall on them, so the ones now in the cars may be much better, I don't know.
Also, I would be looking for the newest car I could fit in my budget. All RS have a 36 month/36,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and 60 month/60,000 mile powertrain warranty. If you get one with powertrain warranty coverage remaining, you may be able to get a fresh clutch under the TSB.
