i own a 00 impreza 2.5rs and want to know which turbo kit is the best. I have know of companies like AVO, ludespeed, forced air tech.... and i need your opinions suggestions on which one to get, and what you like about the one you hav. Also will i need to rienforce my engine/lower the compresssion? I already hav cobbtuning intake, borla hearders & exhaust, and unorthodox puylley. baiscally i need to know everything you know about turboeing imprezas. Thanks and sorry for the long post

 

i tried the search previously and found nothing very good and the thread on AVO and Ludespeed was pretty helpful but i was looking for some personal opinions on wut they like abouyt there kits and wut i would need for it. I am willing to save up for anything if it is worth the money, is reliable, and has a good reputation from others who hav it. please help

 

I had a Minnam Turbo kit on my car. It worked great. They aren't in business anymore. I have mixed reviews about the Ludespeed kit. I heard fitment issues. The AVO I have not heard anything about. You might want to see if you can find an old Minnam kit.

Both LudeSpeed and AVO are good turbo kits. I have the LudeSpeed on mine and Tom of Ludespeed is very helpful. Again, the price is always the big issue, and as far as reliable, it's very hard to say. Building up the bottom end (your engine) before going turbo is defintely the best route, but costly!

Thanks for all your help but i just have one more question. THe predrilled oil pan, why is that needed and is it included in the AVO kit?

 

The modified oil pan by LudeSpeed is for the purpose of allowing the oil to return from Turbo to Oil Pan. It's modified with the OEM oil pan, and thus making the setup true bolt on (well on that part at least). If AVO kit includes that too, then you do not require to modify your current one.
