Question about gutted downpipe and uppipe

OK, so I am going to take out the cats from my downpipe and uppipe but im not sure if I want to remove the cat from my uppipe (dont whant to take off all the stuff to get to it)

My question is: Would it make that much of a difference to gut the uppipe as well? I am looking for a loud setup (without buying a catback) and a relativily do it your self type of thing.

Is there much difference in noise and power?

Any advice is great!!!

If you want loud, just replace the muffler. If you want LOUD, replace the muffler and gut your pipes. But gutting the cats and keeping hte stock muffler will be much quieter than changing the muffler and keeping the cats.
