Help with Parallel fuel Mod & Injectors
Help with Parallel fuel Mod & Injectors
Ok, so I am ready to perform the parallel fuel line conversion as well as change the injectors. I got the conversion kit from Tom at Ludespeed and I am really looking for instructions on how to do this as well as the injectors. The parts included are 3
feet of fuel line, 2 screws, 4 metal clamps, one F-shaped fitting, and
one fitting that I am guessing has to do with the FPR (I do not really
know how to explain it or what it does, it has a 1.5" silver metal
fitting that I believe the 2 screws would go through and a brass
nozzle like the F-shaped piece coming off of it.)
Any ideas on where I can get some help or if someone can tell me how to do this. I checked out scoobymods.com and their instructions require completely different pieces than what I received. Thanks for the help!

well the injectors could be around $400. I got them cheaper with the turbo kit though. the pieces for the parallel conversion were bought from Ludespeed for about $100, though it probably should be that much. if you'd like, check out scoobymods.com and they have instructions for the same mod but using different pieces. I don't know much about the par fuel kit.

I am cheap
I know I need the injectors and the par fuel mod.
But I don't want to spend money until I understand what's going on. This and the scoobiemods, they are parallel/serial mods. Two fuel rails get fed in parallel, but 1&3 and 2&4 are in serial.
Why not have a 1 to 4 splitter at the fuel filter and feed each injector separately, then go back with a 4 to 1 splitter at the FPR ?
Am I wrong ?

yeah, i see what you mean. i think that it is ok to have 1 & 3 and 2 & 4 in serial because there is enough fuel to properly feed both injectors. it is just that when you run all 4 in a series, the last injector will receive less than the three before it. but with only 2 in a line, both get a proper amount of fuel. i may be wrong on this but tell me if this makes any sense.
one other thing kuma. maybe you can answer this. i do not fully understand the diagram, but when i look at it, it seems like the red colered line (the new line) simply goes from the t fitting to the fpr, while leaving the fuel line in a series. am i completely misunderstanding the diagram cuz i think i am. can you help clarify this?

Nope
I have the same question.
I have two theories about this diagram:
1) The red line connects at the crossing point with the black line
2) The red line connects at the FPR (as it seems), and the way it works is that i pushes the fuel in from the other side.
FPR is can be considered a wall, since it restricts the flow. So, the fuel is fed to the
2&4 (from the IN side) and 1&3 (from the FPR side).
Just a theory though.

Bill, correct me if I'm wrong, but I *think* the fuel rail diagram should look like this, only not so crappily chopped:
