cheap intercooler spray tank and pump
A while ago I was going to buy the MRT intercooler sprayer kit for my RS-T but held off on it because I was in the process of buying some other things. As luck would have it (well lucky for me) a coworker wrecked his Nissan Terrano/Pathfinder SUV. He said if I needed anything that I could take it. I thought about it a little while and decided to take the stock rear washer tank and pump out of his SUV and use it for my intercooler sprayer. Because it has to pump from the engine bay to the rear of the vehicle and still have good pressure the stock pump is very strong. So much so that when I tested it out on a friends front washer nozzles it shot fluid over the top of the car.
I was being lazy for a while and just left it sit but finally got around to taking it out of his SUV yesterday. There were only three bolts that hold the entire thing in place. You simply unbolt the bracket that holds the pump and the tank. Because there was some rust on the bracket I removed the tank from the bracket by sliding it out of the slot that holds it in place. Then I removed the two bolts that hold the pump to the bracket. Next I used the sand blaster to remove all the rust and old paint. Sprayed on some rust proofing material, primered it, covered it in gloss black and finally hit it with a clear coat. Putting it back together was equally easy.
I added some connectors to the stock wires to make the install easier later on. Just going to connect it to a 12v switched power source and add a toggle switch. You will definately want some nozzles that put out a fine mist. I'm going to be using 4 of the MRT spray nozzles.
