Im getting a clunk when decelerating and under a very light load in my rear left. Lifted the car abd rotated the wheel and its clunking from inside the dustboot on the axle on the wheek side, not the differential side.

What could the clunking be exactly? What do I need to replace?

if its clunking inside the axle... replace the axle. It could also be the wheel bearing.

thats the response I was looking for, thanks, much appreciated. After doing some research last night I narrowed it down to wheel bearing or axle but your response sealed the deal on that. Thanks!

If im getting a clunk on the passenger side in the front would that be differentials? or possibly just the axle and bearing?

Check CV boot for tears. lift car and wiggle wheel at 10+ spots. Youll have your answer. unless you are running dramatically different tire and wheel sizes per side, diff should be fine. wheels bearings tend to wobble when unloaded and grind/clunk when loaded (i.e making a left turn and right side grinds, right side wheel bearing)
