FS: Forward and Reverse Radio Wiring Harnesses

Planning to add a Line Out Converter or subwoofer to your stock radio? Want to do it without cutting or splicing into your car's factory wiring?
Harness manufacturer Scosche makes a reverse radio harness for the WRX (the connector that plugs into the rear of the stock radio). But theirs has only 13 wires -- it's missing the Orange/White Dimmer wire (a must-have for stock Subaru radios to light up properly). 'Forward' harnesses are easier to find, but many also lack the 14th wire.
I've been custom making radio wiring harnesses in small batches, mainly for SVX owners. But WRX and other Subaru owners have been interested in these harnesses too. See the links below for pictures and more details.
Reverse harness $14 -- Plugs into the WRX radio (as well as radios from all other 1993-up Subarus except the SVX). Use this to:
'Forward' harness $12 -- Mates with the radio plug in all 1993-up Subarus (except the SVX). These should be easier to find at local stores, but they don't always have the Dimmer wire. Use this to:
*NEW* Reverse subwoofer harness $12 -- Harness with 8-position connector that plugs into the Subaru factory under-seat subwoofer. Use this to:

BTW, if you have a stock WRX radio you'd like to sell, there are always SVX owners interested in buying. Post a classified on the "Wanted or For Sale" forum at Subaru-SVX.net .

Reverse harness $14 -- Plugs into the WRX radio (as well as radios from all other 1993-up Subarus except the SVX). Use this to:
- Install a factory subwoofer that didn't come with a complete factory T-harness (read subwoofer notes, below)
- Add an LOC (Line Output Converter) to install an after-market amp or subwoofer (you'll need to combine a reverse and a forward WRX harness)
- Install your factory radio in another car
- Restore the factory radio plug in your car if it's been damaged or removed
'Forward' harness $12 -- Mates with the radio plug in all 1993-up Subarus (except the SVX). These should be easier to find at local stores, but they don't always have the Dimmer wire. Use this to:
- Install a subwoofer or LOC (same notes as above)
- Install an after-market radio in your 1993-up Subaru
*NEW* Reverse subwoofer harness $12 -- Harness with 8-position connector that plugs into the Subaru factory under-seat subwoofer. Use this to:
- Install a factory subwoofer that didn't come with a factory T-harness (read subwoofer notes below)
- Install a Subaru subwoofer in another car (you'll also need forward and reverse harnesses for that car)
Note: Similar to the other harnesses, the wires on this subwoofer harness are about 5.75" long.
Notes about Subaru factory subwoofer: The factory subwoofer is supposed to come with a T-harness. One end connects between the car and the factory radio, and the other end connects to the subwoofer. The long leg is about 50" to reach under the seat. Some people selling factory subwoofers are cutting the wires near the sub. If you've bought one that did not include a complete harness, you'll need one WRX 'forward' and one WRX reverse harness and an inline fuse holder to replace what's missing. If your subwoofer didn't include any part of Subaru's harness, you'll need the WRX 'forward' and reverse harnesses plus the reverse subwoofer harness. For shipping and payment options, and to place your order, please see this web page.

Update: Radio wiring harnesses, pin-outs, and more information are on my new site at http://ae64.com
I also have the new-style 20-pin radio harnesses (used on 2008 and later Impreza / WRX / STI). Mine include the wires for steering wheel controls (unlike harnesses from Metra and Scosche).
