Speaker question.

Yes, I know i am crossposting. but I figgured you guys might know better then just posting it in the audio forum.

http://kane.phpwebhosting.com/~impre...=&threadid=866

I want to get speakers that will be great for mid and get some good high end speakers for my dad and my own project car.(just about to finish with my 2.5rs so it is time to mod the fathers car..heehee)

Neways, what size speakers will fit in the doors of a legacy outback? (MY1998) Also do you guys ave opinions on good speakers and a good amp? I already upgarded his sound system a little by getting a wrx 6 cd in dash cd changer and he loves it. So the next step would be to do the speakers.

After that. I already am hunting down a EJ20T form a USDM wrx and I am also looking for a WRX ECU. Then it will be time to motor swap!(this late winter will be the begining of this project) I figgured since this car has seen over 150k in under 4 years, has had 2 kids learn to drive in it, has been hit while it was parked 3 times and the only thing to go wrong in it has been a broken antenna and a chip in the winshield. Might as well pamper it and give it some boost

Front Door 6-1/2"
Rear Door 6-1/2"

Got that from Crutchfield, now you don't have to buy from them but its a good place to find out what fits.

my OB

I have a 96 legacy outback. I have

Alpine 7872 h/u (pretty lowend, but definately gets the job done)
Kicker KX 200 (could be bigger, but also, sounds very nice)
(2) 6 1/2" Kenwood Excelon speakers (front)
(2) 6 1/2" Alpine Speakers (rear)
(2) 12" Kicker Comp (vented box)

around $1400 with installation

I pretty much couldnt be happier with my system. I could use an internal amp/bigger amp but thats pretty much it. Maybe upgrade to VR when I get some spare change.

-Peace

my OB

pioneer DEH-P5200 head
pioneer 1667 6.5 inch three ways front and rear (drop right into the factory mounting cups after a little trimming of the drip guard....)
Alpine 300w mono amp (model escapes me at the moment)
Crossfire BMF DVC 12"

Best part is that the entire system has cost me *way* less than $500.........

The HU has high and low passes built in, so I'm crossing the coaxials at 80hz and the sub at 125, then dialed down to ~85 on the amp to cover the frequency dropoff of the door speakers.....
