Rolling fenders on a 03 wagon (what size wheels/tires to buy?)

I am going to buy 5zigen FNO1R-C rims in Matte Black. I can't decide if I should get 17x8 or 17x7. I have an 03 wagon, and I heard that I would possibly need to have my fenders rolled. I really don't even know where I would go to have that done. Will the 17x8 with a 48 offset fit on my wagon?

It all depends on what tires you get. If you go safe and use 215s then x7's should be plenty, and will work fine. Since its a wagon, u probably don't want x8s since they are more for 245s but if u want to get the widest tires, and don't mind rolling your fenders, 17x8s might be the way to go. I'd go 17x7 and probably 225s but it all depends on you, and what you want/want them for. GL

to roll a fender you take a baseball bat between the tire and the fender, handel side. have some one roll the car forward and the fender rdge will roll up against the sheet medal. do it a little at a time pushing the bat up to give more thickness between the wheel and tire. you can gain about 1/2 an inch clearence.
the tire you buy is more important then how wide it is .

Be aware that the 17x8 may not work. Most of the time for the wagon you are looking at either 17x7.5 with 215/45's or 225/45's if you get the fenders rolled in the rear. All of this also depends on how low your car is. If you go with 17x7.5 or 17x7 and then go with the 215's you will have no problem with rubbing unless you have the wrong offset. 7 inch rim needs 55-53mm, 7.5 inch rim 50-48mm and 8 inch needs 45-48mm offset (see www.spdusa.com for more info).

But like I said, with 215's you will have no problems. With 225's you may have to roll fenders depending on the maker of the tires. They all seem to run a little different.
