I don't know why but for some reason I am thinking this may be an India only thing.

Maybe not but I like to think wishfully.

From the reviews section of that sight:

To begin with the Chevrolet Forester is in reality a Subaru Forester wearing the famous Chevrolet badge for India. The Forester is quite a popular 'crossover' car built by Subaru (one of the three Japanese alliance partners of GM)

That kills me. I like the Forresters looks, especially the XT, but you strap on a chevy logo and a coat of good ol GM paint and that thing looks like ***.

so sad

You know this is gonna transform the meets - in a couple of years we will have Saabs and Chevys parked alongside regular subies.

This would be the one time when swearing should be allowed on this forum. I'm sooooo mad right now. I hope FHI knows what they are doing. They just might loose a lot of customers.

Anyway, all that aside, there are some points I should make:

Under the specifications page there is a subaru logo on the steering wheel.

And on the AWD page they give Subaru credit by saying that it is a Subaru engine at least.

What's with the hp difference? Only 120hp?? But 184lbs torque?

I guess there are different ways we can look at this business development. It's no secret that GM has a partnership (owns part of) with Fuji Heavy Industries. I think that the increased revenue gives Subaru a shot in the arm so they have the money to develop its own leading edge vehicles like the STi and Forester 2.5XT and the Legacy turbo. As long as Subaru maintains the flagship vehicles, I don't have a real big problem with the partnership.

Not that my opinion matters to GM.
