anybody know how to preserve a carbon fiber hood so it doesn't fade?

Aside from the usual keeping the sun from beating down on it too much, you might be able to use some type of finish or coating on it. I don't know, but with more and more cars nowadays coming with carbon fiber components, and problems with carbon fade on the Evo spoilers and the Carrera GT, there must be some way. Have you contacted any of the manufacturers to see if they have any suggestions?

I make an effort to wax my carbon fiber pieces everytime I wash my car but the fade of the actual carbon I think is inevitable...

kinda what i figured. I tried to contact the manufacturer but most of the time all you get is a guy who knows less than we do... fail.

I love the cf look when new. I hate the cf look when worn in. Makes the entire car look bad.

clear coating is the best way to do it.. taking to a shop and having them professionally clear coating it usually does the trick
