truck owners

So...... My wife wants me to get a truck when we get back to the states. She is currently pregnant with our 4th child so a front bench seat option is a must. Having 3 car seats in the back and my oldest sitting "bia" in the front. Some of the trucks I've been looking at are the silverados, sierras, tacomas, and tundras. I havent seen the newer tacomas or tundras with bench seating, is that an option? I also notice alot of the newer trucks are starting to go towards center consoles in the front. Any guys out there with a binch of kids and a truck? What do you like about it and why?

Why a truck? Sounds like you need a van

Van + 2. Trucks are fine with like 2 kids but a van makes way more sense. The new Honda one has a built in vacuum!

a truck because 1) she wants something else for beach, snow, ta-50, and dirty stuff we both don't want to put in our cars 2) she misses my SSS and 3) it cat fit our whole family without sacrificing space/ease and convenience of hauling stuff.

hmmmmm, maybe look into a SUV, like a suburban or something. I think the Jeep Patriot is a 4WD and roomy. Dunno if thats something your looking into. IMO a truck doesnt have alot of room for kids etc.

thought about an suv. with the 3rd row up, they have crap for trunk space. suv's are a little slim and cant fir 3 carseats in 1 row like a truck can. which I would have to use 2 rows and have no trunk space for the double bob + groceries. With an suv I would have a lot less gear space and would still have an issue with throwing dirty stuf/hauling stuff (like my subie on a trailer). a truck will have enough space, the newer ones are a little wider than my old 05 SSS (could fit 3 car seats on rear bench). We used it a lot for trips to Tahoe during winter and summer time. it had a center console in front, but I know it would have been fine had it been a bench seat, to fit a family of 6. An SUV is out of the question, I would get another van (Sienna w AWD) over a SUV any day of the week. As of right now, it will deffo be a truck.

How's the Toyota hummer? I forgot the name of it but I think that's a good choice.

FJ? = not a truck. still a suv. if I cant spray bedliner in the bed, its not a truck. a jeep can be sprayed with bedliner as well as all other cars and auvs, and hybrids (honga ridgeline, chevy avalanche).
