A friend just brought this to my attention, so I figured I'd pass it along.

This state has the saltiest air of them all. Ive iwned my grill for 4 yrs and not one spec of rust after 3yrs of life in cali, w/o a cover. 1yr after she sat here, she rusted out. Same with my gazebo, its about to go as well.

Yikes I would think salt applied on roads that go directly under our cars has a worse effect though. Anybody in hawaii ever experienced these rusted brake lines yet on 08+ models?

it's hard to say, its humid as hell here and rains a lot on schofield, I haven't checked into the issue/recall yet cause i'm lazy like that, lol. i did notice my gaskets are a bit rusted when i removed exhaust (1.5 yr old). idk how good the invidia gaskets are, but i do have some gs ones on the way, will chek then.

I have an 05 STi Penn state rustbucket to prove it.
As for 08+ brake lines, both of ours never had an issue here in hawaii. And I just got done with the brakes and lines on the '11.

Subaru of America will notify potentially effected vihicle owners by first class mail within the next 60 days. I work for a Subaru dealer and so far everyone and there mother has called us about it, and we are in California. If you are really worried call your dealer or the dealer where you get your service and give them your VIN#, they will check to see if your car is on the recall. hope this will help you guys out.

Thats good to hear. Im planning on upgrading brakes sometime soon too. Did you get a shop to do your lines? If so, where? I've never changed brake lines before.
